Gathering Sun Rays
Today is (according to the weatherman) the final day of Indian Summer here in my parts. We have taken advantage of it by doing our read-aloud time (currently Watership Down) at the picnic table after lunch, soaking up some sun, and listening to the migrating flocks.
"Frederick, why don't you work?" they asked.
"I do work," said Frederick.
"I gather sun rays for the cold dark winter days."
